We are a family run business located just behind Stanley Market. We are a small but well equiped studio with plenty of natural light. We have 5 Shimpo wheels, 2 Nabertherm Kilns, a wall mounted extruder, slab roller, and a wide assortment of hand building tools. We offer kids classes, birthday parties, wheel throwing courses, corporate wellness, pottery painting and much more.
Niall didn’t take a conventional route into the ceramic arts. After graduating from the University of Oxford and serving as an army officer during his Singaporean national service he joined Jardine Matheson as a management trainee.
While he loved working in a corporate and later a start up environment, he was always looking for a creative medium to express himself. He was therefore very fortunate to be involved in the founding of Terracotta Ceramics.
Niall is now primarily responsible for all the teaching at the studio. He has mentored many beginner wheel throwers from making their first wonky pots into creating refined and shapely vessels. He also creates the syllabus for our weekly kids classes, and is able to customise special projects for kids birthday parties on request.
In addition to this, he mixes the house glazes and is responsible for firing ceramics in the studio. He has worked with the interior design brand Inside Living, as well as the hospitality brand Bubbles and Wines to create unique ceramic products.
